FAQs: What Kind of Floor Jack works with the RennStand (18M-RS3)?

There are many brands of Jacks that will work for the RennStand. Here are some of the specifications you will need to know when choosing your Jack.

WHAT SIZE FLOOR JACK WILL FIT UNDER THE RENNSTAND?

We recommend a low profile Jack for the RennStand (18M-RS3).

The jack can not be wider than the space between the legs. The RennStand will accept floor jacks that are up to 12 inches or 305 MM wide. Luckily, that is wider than all the jacks we measured. In addition, the floor jack should have a lift saddle of 3″ diameter or larger. The circular baseplate located on the underside of the RennStand’s central component is designed to fit within the diameter of a 3″ jack-saddle for stability.

FITMENT: HOW MUCH ROOM IS REQUIRED TO PLACE THE STAND?

You will need at least 5.5 inches or 140 mm of clearance from the center of the jack point to any obstruction in order to safely place the RennStand.  You will need 2.1″ plus the height of your jack to place the RennStand under your vehicle. For the super low clearance vehicles, you can simply use a service ramp or jack your car enough to Safely place A Block under your tire to get additional clearance.

The floor jack must be appropriately rated for the vehicle you are lifting.

Safety takes no Holidays!
We recommend using a low profile jack, such as the Pittsburgh 1.5 ton or 2 ton Aluminum Racing Jacks, which are readily available at major retail stores, such as Harbor Freight. Check the specs of each jack to make sure their respective max heights meet your needs. If the racing jacks are still too low, or you need a jack with a heavier load rating, their 3 ton Low Profile High Performance Jack is another option.
